Parenting Monaghan is offering a FREE 6 week Parents Plus Special Needs programme for parents, guardians with children aged 10+ with a mild, moderate or severe intellectual disability, and who may also have a diagnosis, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or a physical disability, please see poster for information.
Why join?
You are the expert who knows your child and family best. The overall aim with the Special Needs programme is to support each parent who attends and give them the opportunity to reflect on family relationships and to consider how to strengthen the circle of support for you, your child who has additional support needs and your family.
The programme focuses on:
• Understanding and connecting with your child.
• Managing behaviour and emotional concerns.
• Handling puberty, sexuality, and relationships.
• Reducing your own stress as a parent.
• Supporting your other children and family relationships.
• Building your child’s self-esteem and well-being.
• Advocating for your child's needs.
• Preparing your child for adulthood and future changes.
