A special thanks goes to the residents of Lough na Glack for warmly welcoming the Playful Streets Initiative to their community as part of their Family Fun day which was held on Saturday 8th August.
We would like to acknowledge the residents of Lough na Glack for all their support and cooperation throughout the process. We know that a lot of work took place behind the scenes to help make these events possible, and we want to say that none of that work went unnoticed by the residents. Their willingness to get involved, work together and support the initiative was a huge part of what made the day such a success.
Playful Streets is an initiative that temporarily transforms residential streets into safe, welcoming spaces where children and families can play. It gives children and parents/carers the opportunity to enjoy outdoor play close to home, while bringing communities together and encouraging positive social interaction.
The initiative was coordinated by Parenting Monaghan and FutureFit, with a special thanks to SICAP for providing funding and support.
Parenting Monaghan works to support parents and families in Monaghan, helping to build confidence, to promote positive parenting and family wellbeing. Through initiatives such as Playful Streets, Parenting Monaghan aim to help create opportunities for families to connect and have fun together.
We would also like to extend our thanks to the National Childhood Network, Foróige, Monaghan County Council and the community Guards for helping and supporting the initiative on the day. Their contribution helped make the event an enjoyable and memorable experience for everyone involved.
